One of our Top 5 Best Wedding Florists
We had the pleasure of working with fellow wedding vendor Renae Buning of Alice Hatch Floral in August of this year. This wedding put Renae in our “Top 5 Best Wedding Florists.” It was the most perfect day celebrating the wedding of Christa and Casey at Loeks Retreat and Conference Center at Camp Blodgett. We had the opportunity to watch Renae in action as she finished up the wedding flowers for the day. She was friendly and chatted with us as she worked, skillfully prepping flowers and vines for her designs, laughing about how she couldn’t smell the flowers like we could.
Renae and her assistant created an elegant ambiance with pink and white roses, dahlias, eucalyptus, babies breath, and a few other flowers I can’t name. I’m sure she could though! Alice Hatch Floral provided flower cuttings for the invitation suite above, as well. The flower cuttings tied all of the wedding day details together, and we appreciated that she offered them to us.

The intoxicating smell of the flowers, beautiful design and Renae’s kindness had impressed us already. And THEN, we saw the drying towel Alice Hatch Floral provides with their wedding bouquets. Beyond thoughtful, we think this small but valuable addition is next level service. In our 11 years of photographing weddings in West Michigan, it was the first time we (or someone else) didn’t have to hunt down paper towels.
We love how the pink, white, and green florals gave the dining room at Loeks Retreat and Conference Center a light and airy summer vibe. It was perfect for the gorgeous beach wedding venue on Lake Michigan. Taking wedding photographs on the beach is always at the top of the list for us, and we are so grateful to have been a part of Christa and Casey’s “Best Day Ever” and working with a top-notch florist, like Renae. Alice Hatch Floral is one of our Top 5 Best Wedding Florists because she adds a thoughtful and personal touch to your wedding day florals!
